Ashfaq Ulla Khan was a major revolutionary of the Indian freedom struggle. Ashfaq Ulla Khan, like Ram Prasad Bismil, was also the best poet in Urdu language. His Urdu Takhlus was 'Hasrat'. In addition to Urdu, he used to write articles and poems in Hindi and English. His full name was Ashfaq Ulla Khan Varsi.

Ashfaq was born on October 22, 1900 in Kadankhail Jalalnagar district, near the railway station in Shahjahanpur, Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh. His father's name was Mohammad Shafiq Ulla Khan. His Valida Majharunnisha Begum was counted in beautiful Khabatunis. Ashfaq was the youngest of his siblings. They all called 'Achur' with love.

On the arrest of two prominent persons like Shankindranath Sanyal and Yogesh Chandra Chatterjee in Bengal, the Hindustan Republican Association came to the shoulders of the whole of Bordeer. In addition to Premkrishna Khanna from Shahjahanpur, the contribution of Ashfaq Ulla Khan in addition to Thakur Roshan Singh was appreciable. He had a remarkable role in Kakori Train Dacoity.

On September 26, 1925, when the arrests were made across the country, Ashfaq ran away in the eyes of the police and escaped. He was able to arrest them after a lot of police. On July 13, 1927, he was sentenced to death
