Mangal Pandey

  

Mangal Pandey was the great revolutionary of India. He led the first war of India's independence which the British had to flee from India. Leaving all his personal interests, he sacrificed himself in the first freedom struggle.

He was born on 16 July 1827 in Ballia district of Uttar Pradesh. He was born in a Brahmin family. He believed that the cow is the mother of India, Mangal Pandey joined the army of the East India Company in 1849 when he was 22 years old. He was posted in Bengal, he was in the infantry and his No. was 1446

When he came to know that to put cartridges in the British pistol, the cartridges have to be opened with the mouth, there is cow's fat on it, due to this, the soul of Mangal Pandey was hurt, we grew up drinking the milk of the cow and she is our mother. Today these British butchers are killing our mother due to adding fat on the cartridges of bullets. 

Janani was to hang on 18 April 1857 in Barrackpore (18 mile far from kolkata), Bengal, but no executioner was ready, then when the Indian soldiers came to know in the cantonment, they made preparations for the rebellion. Mangal Pandey was hanged on 8 April 1857 which is 10 days before actual time in Barrackpore, Bengal.

He shot the British officer and said, "Kill Firangi".

On 29 March 1857, the British were coming from Europe to kill them. Even before this, he made the British die and when the British army arrested him, he was court-martial and hanged.

East India company could not hang Pandey's dreams and India became independent on 15 August 1947, after 100 years of his sacrifice.

Today is 8th April 2022, today is the 165th day of his martyrdom.
