First Indian War of Independence of 1857

The first war of independence took place in India in 1857. There were many reasons behind this. From 1757 to 1857, East India was a company that plundered India a lot. When it came, it was meant to do business, but it was intended to capture India and also captured it.

Major Causes of the First Indian War of Independence of 1857

1. robbing India's wealth and taking it to England

Robert clive 

The first governor or what is called Commander of Chief in India was Robert Clive. We call him the biggest dacoit of India. He ruled India from 1725-1774. , He fought with Surajudaula. It wasn't really a war, it was a hoax or 420 on the name of war. Robert Cleve was clever like a fox and saw that Mir Jafar was a greedy army person. He had dreams of becoming the Nawab of Bengal. Robert Cleve set it on fire and told him that if he orders his soldiers to surrender in the war, then I will make you the Nawab of Bengal. He asked his 18000 soldiers to leave their weapon and 18 English soldiers tied them and killed them. After that he also killed Mir Jafar. and looted Kolkata for seven years. And took the looted property to England.

 During his time he robbed India and took 900 ships to England. In a ship he kept 70 meteric tons of gold and diamonds. There are 1000 kg in 1 metric ton, meaning 70000 kg of gold was looted in a year and in 7 years, 900 such ships were taken to England. 

Meaning: India to England 900 * 7 0,000 kg. It was worth 1000 million sterling pounds. If you take this money back from the British today

Today's cost of this looted money  in Indian Currency = 

1000 X 10,00,000 X Rs. 101.62 (Value of per pound in Indian currency) = Rs. 10162,13,21,912.77 = Rs. 10162 crore 13 lakh 21 hjar 9 so 12

In this way 84 Governor Generals came to loot India.

When so many years passed from 1757 to 1857, people got very angry to kill the British and drive them out of India. in which the first war of independence took place in 1857

From 1757 to 1947, property worth Rs 300,000 crore was looted from India.

2. British trespassing on Indians

Whoever opposes the British. The rags used to tie him to the mouth of the cannon.

3. The British opened a Bhucharkhana for the slaughter of the mother cow.

4. The British used to forcefully convert Indians to Christianity.

5. The British were increasing adultery in India.

Mangal Pandey started the first Indian freedom struggle of 1857. He came to know that the British put cow's mass on the gun cartridge. Indians had to open this gun cartridge with their mouth. So Mangal Pandey asked an Englishman whether you cut the cow and put its meat on the gun cartridge. The Englishman didn't say no and didn't say yes either. The name of that officer was Major General Hewson. Mangal Pandey had a rifle and Mangal Pandey shot two to Major General Hewson. After this Mangal Pandey killed another British officer.

After this some more Britishers came and caught Mangal Pandey and there was a court martial against Mangal Pandey.

He was hanged after 10 days On 8 April 1857.
