Maharaja Man Singh Tomar was the famous and majestic Maharaja of the Gwalior kingdom of the Tomar dynasty.

His statue is installed near Captain Roop Singh Stadium at Maharaja Man Singh Tomar square in Gwalior, all the kings who became emperors in the Tomar dynasty have been unanimously told by historians that all the kings of the Tomar dynasty were highly scholar and religious, courageous. Brave, mighty and generous, sacrificial , learned and generous, war skills, bravery in war, where the name of Gwalior Maharaja Man Singh Tomar comes foremost, he is considered a very high-class writer, religionist, protector of culture and Sanatan Dharma is also considered the supreme servant

In Rajputi period calculations, the name of Maharaja Man Singh Tomar is counted as such a brave warrior who fought many wars in his lifetime and was always victorious.

Every enemy was not only beaten badly in every battle but whoever dared to raise his eyes towards Madhya Bharat or towards Gwalior Chambal was either beheaded or imprisoned or forced to run away. He ruled for 30 years.

Birth of Man Singh Tomar

Man Singh Tomar was born in 1486 AD. Today is 2023 means 537 years ago from today. He was born in the house of Raja Kalyanmal, the Tomar Rajput ruler of Gwalior. He got the throne of the king and he ruled for 30 years. Historian Farishta has described Man singh as a brave and capable ruler. English historians have called Man singh's reign as the Golden Age of Tomar Rule.

Build Gwalior Fort

This is a very wonderful fort which was built by Man Singh Tomar. These were his 9 queens. A separate Gujari Mahal was built for the 9th queen. This fort is made of sandstone and has been fixed on a high mountain. There are two ways to reach it, one by foot and one by vehicle.

1. Gwalior Fort was built like a maze, each room has 5 doors
2. Once Man Singh saw that oxen were fighting with each other, a girl separated them with her strength and Man Singh was impressed by her bravery and expressed his desire to marry her. The girl said I have three conditions. First, build a separate palace in the fort of Gwalior. Bring water from my village to the fort. I will not cover my face. The king fulfilled her conditions and married her.
3. After Babur's victory over Ibrahim Lodi at Panipat, this fort came into the hands of Babur and Jahangir was born in the same dynasty. Guru Hargobind Sahib was kept in this fort and when Jahangir got scared, he wanted to keep Guru ji alive. But Guru ji said keep the innocent 52 kings as well. It was very difficult. Guru ji stitched a cloth with 52 buds. And everyone came out Gwalior jail holding him.
4. There was a Shiva temple with 52 pillars in this fort, which Jahangir broke and looted the wealth of this fort and made it a prison.
5. In this fort, there are pipes of telephone system to talk from room to room below.

War done by Man Singh Tomar to protect the nation

1. Battle with Bahlol Lodi

Sikandar Lodi's father, Bahlol attacked Gwalior and defeated from man singh

2. Battle with Sikandar Lodi, son of Bahlol Lodi

Sikander ferociously attacked Gwalior for five times. Five times he had to return from Mansingh's face. His court history-writers, newspaper Navis have written that Man singh avoided the promise of giving gold-silver every time by not giving gold-silver. It is surprising that a tough warrior like Sikandar used to accept it as well! In the end, Alexander had to build Agra in 1504 to defeat this Mansingh Tomar, before that Agra was an insignificant place. Even then Alexander could not succeed. After surrounding Gwalior, they raided Narwar. Narwar was in Gwalior state. Rajsingh Kachwaha had a claim on it. Raj Singh helped Sikander. Even then, the people of Narwar continued to fight continuously for 11 months. When even grass and bark of trees became unavailable for food, then they surrendered. Then Alexander vented his jealousy on the temples and idols at Narvar. He stayed in Narwar for six months for this purpose.

3. War with Ibrahim Lodi, son of Sikandar Lodi

Ibrahim Lodi became the king of Delhi after killing his brother.

While he was alive, not a single foreign invader could hoist his flag in the Gwalior-Chambal kingdom, nor could he stand in front of these heroes in battle. When Man Singh Tomar achieved heroic feat in the battle with Ibrahim Lodi.

In the reign of Vikramaditya Singh Tomar, son of Gwalior Maharaja Man Singh Tomar, fighting a fierce battle with Ibrahim Lodhi, when Lodhi could not control these princes in any way and could not stand in front of their bravery, then these two princes were betrayed by Ibrahim Lodhi. poisoned him to death,

Both these brave princes also married themselves in Gujjars of local Gwalior Chambal region, both of them were called Rajkumar Tomar Rajputs, but instead of keeping matrimonial relations with Rajputs, they carried forward their family tradition by keeping matrimonial relations with Gujjars and their descendants. Instead of Tomar in his caste gotra, he started writing and saying Tongar, since then Tongar was called as Gujar and he is considered to be the biggest clan among Gujars (they are half Kshatriya Rajput and half Gujar), since then Tongar Gujar Till date, Tomar considers himself a Kshatriya Rajput as well as a pure Gujar. Means they consider themselves half Kshatriya Rajput and half Gujar.

It was Maharaja Man Singh Tomar who renovated and renovated the Gwalior Fort and defeated Sikandar Lodi and Ibrahim Lodi several times... In the famous battles in history, Maharaja Man Singh Tomar made the Lodis badly beaten many times.... Praise songs are sung by Maharaja Man Singh Tomar, among them Maharaja Mansingh Tomar's praise songs are also famous for Sangeet Samrat Tansen. .. Kunwar Tejpal Singh Tomar was a general of Maharaja Man Singh Tomar, who roared like a lion in the Lodhi court of Delhi… that I am that Tomar whose forefather had a Killi cart in this Delhi…. Tearing the cob of Sheshnag, she sunk into the earth and crossed over…. She thrashed Lodi badly in Lodi's court and said that we are Tomars, we will tear apart the wicked like you and bathe the earth with your blood.. .. On this, Lodi forgot the dignity of the messenger and got his head penned there and hanged his severed head in the Tomar Mahal of the old fort of Delhi, but before his head was cut, he caused a lot of havoc in Lodi's court. Lodhi's court was reddened with blood by killing many of Lodi's court
