Mahatma Prabhu Ashrit Ji Maharaj ( 1887 - 1967 ) was among the most distinguished and sages of all times.

Totally surrendered to God, he was a living example and embodiment of truth, simplicity, modesty and love.

Renouncing family life after successfully fulfilling his worldly obligations, he took vanprastha and then sanyas in the best of ancient traditions.

He spent most of the later period of his life in meditation, jap, tap, pranayam and swadhyaya. For years he observed silence and other form of austerities in secluded places.

He also wrote for the benefit of his followers about four dozen books in which he recorded his experiments with truths, ideas, thoughts and reflections on different aspects of spirituality.

He lived to highest standard of morality and ethics, with no discrepancy in thoughts, word and deed.

He was always available to everybody without making any distinction between rich and the poor. He heard with attention to their tales of woes.

Though blessed with many miraculous powers, he never flaunted them to win name and fame.

Mahatma ji's works continue to inspire and lead thousands of his followers.
